Novel Advanced Nano-Objects

Architectonique de la matière à l’échelle nanométrique

Research in the Novel Advanced Nano-Objects (NANO) team is focused on the design of functional nano-objects

The team gathers materials chemists working at the edge of chimie douce, solid-state chemistry, inorganic chemistry, nanochemistry, and physical chemistry. We are joining our expertises to perform cutting edge research in the synthesis of nano-objects, their processing, characterization, properties and applications.

The team stands out in nanochemistry and materials chemistry for the wide range of materials we are addressing, and the diversity of synthesis methods we are mastering and developing:

  • We are designing nano-objects belonging to new territories in terms of chemical composition, atomic-scale order, and shape to yield original properties addressing urgent challenges of our societies, like energy and environment,
  • We are developing new synthetic methods, focused on liquid-phase reactivity and sustainable processes, to synthesize these nano-objects,
  • We are seeking to understand the mechanisms underlying the formation and properties of nano-objects,
  • We aim for an in-depth understanding of the compositional, structural, atom-scale order and morphological features that drive the properties of nanomaterials, by developing advanced characterization methods,
